Am so pleased I purchased this as extra protection - especially with the flared shifters. I think there is adequate padding in the aerocomfort bag itself but this just gives me some added piece of mind as it is solidly built. As a bonus, this actually fits around the top of my bag when it's rolled and both fit inside the storage bag. Highly recommend
The handlebar shield definitely adds a confidence inspiring protective layer to the cockpit. I have traveled without it and now with it and I can tel the difference is how the front of the bag responds to harsh airport treatment. First time I traveled with the soft bag, my shifter got bent. This was the exact addition needed to protect my handlebars. It’s a good amount of extra padding and the hard plate gives me assurance nothing will happen. No issues zipping up the bag either. Worth the extra $s
